The AnySens sensor consists of a base module and can be expanded with other features through various extension modules. For example, the AnySens IIoT sensor can be expanded with a Bluetooth module to add a localization feature. The AnySens sensor can also interface with external sensors (Thermocouple, Load Cell or RTD) by means of an analog input module, whereby, among other things, current voltage can be measured. In addition, the Digital Input / Output module provides users with the ability to convert digital signals from sensors into data. Connected IoT Devices are often located in remote or hard-to-reach areas, on a long distance from the base station, or in protected areas, such as deep underground. Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) offers a suitable solution for such IIoT applications. This Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) technology can be used in almost any location. This low-power IoT communication platform is also optimized for sending small quantities of data over a long period of time.LTE Cat M1 is a low-power wide-area (LPWA) air interface that allows you to connect IoT and M2M devices. The technology offers a longer battery life and a larger internal range, as compared to standard mobile technologies such as 2G, 3G or LTE Cat 1. In comparison with NB-IoT, LTE Cat M1 is also suitable for mobile applications, because it allows high speed transmission between transmission towers on a similar manner as LTE. A NB-IoT device, on the other hand, should at some point make a new connection after a new network cell has been reached.
AnySens Predictive Maintenance Sensor via NB-IoT
In the case of electric trains or trams, current is taken from a catenary with the pantograph of the train. Catenaries ensure that trains get the power on which they run. In the event that a catenary is defective or badly worn, then the power will immediately fail. A train will then come to a standstill because it cannot continue the route in question. To prevent train traffic from being blocked for a longer period of time, predictive maintenance will have to be carried out.By attaching the AnySens LPWAN + edge module to the pantograph, wear of the overhead line can be measured by means of acceleration and magnets. The overhead lines are sometimes located in environments with connectivity issues. NB-IoT is in this case a very suitable IoT communication protocol. This AnySens LPWAN + edge module can be sent to the Cloud via NB-IoT data for a predictive maintenance analysis.
AnySens IoT waste monitoring via NB-IoT
With waste monitoring, the location and the degree of filling of containers is monitored in order to save on logistical costs. In certain sectors, fire hazard due to chemical scalding of waste is also an important factor to monitor. The AnySens LPWAN + module is extremely suitable for IoT waste monitoring applications. Waste containers are sometimes underground or at very remote locations. NB-IoT is therefore a very suitable IoT communication protocol for sending this kind of data.Location determination
The AnySens LPWAN + edge module is capable of periodically measuring XYZ coordination, equipped with a 6 axis IMU and a 3 axis magnetometer, this IIoT basic / edge module is able to determine the location of a waste container.Determine the filling degree
By extending the AnySens LPWAN + edge module with an AnySens Digital Input / Output Module, a laser sensor can be connected to the AnySens LPWAN + edge module. The laser can then determine the degree of filling of the waste container.Measuring breeding hazard garbage
Breeding hazard can be determined based on the temperature within the waste container. By equipping an AnySens LPWAN + edge module with an add-on AnySens Analog Input Module, a different temperature can be detected.
