Since 1974, we've been doing what we do best: delivering custom hardware for industrial applications. Every single day.
This year, we at Arcobel are celebrating our 50th anniversary and we are still going strong!
As a high-end value-added distributor of hardware and associated services, we push key processes to move faster, safer, and smarter, redefining the landscape of industrial solutions. We’re architects of innovation, from conception to assembly, our technical expertise spans the globe.
Collaborating closely with our customers’ technical department, composing multi-vendor systems carefully selecting top quality components from reliable suppliers, seamlessly meeting our customers’ needs and expectations.
Faster, safer, smarter.
Innovation has been one of Arcobel's core values since our establishment in 1974: we continuously strive to explore new applications and possibilities to serve the industrial sector. This enables organizations to streamline industrial processes to be faster, safer, and smarter. Our natural instinct is to look forward rather than backwards.
In honor of our 50th anniversary, we make an exception and highlight some interesting facts and fun facts from the past five decades:
- Our solid partnerships with some suppliers even goes back for over 30 years.
- We have delivered over 50.000 custom high end systems in the past 50 years in a diversity of industry sectors.
- Our most expensive shipping costs ever? These were made during the system upgrade of our hardware of the International Space Station (ISS).
- We obtained dozens of certificates that endorse our knowledge of specific sectors like the railway sector.
- The majority of our team members have been working with us for over 20 years.
- We have ordered pastry at least 750 times to celebrate the birthdays of our employees in the past 50 years.
- Our systems are used to function in the most challenging circumstances, and so is our technical team. They all went very seasick during testing systems on board of a vessel.
- We have accumulated hundreds of years of technical expertise within our team, and delivered systems that we dare claim nearly every, at least, Dutch person, has encountered at some point.
Need proof?
Our systems thrive in any environment, whether it's tropical heat in a desert or a controlled cooling room, an industrial kitchen or a production environment where salads, cheese, or bread are prepared, or even in public transport and shipping. They are designed to withstand extreme temperatures, weather conditions, humidity, and shocks. This makes them robust and reliable, just like our organization and our employees, who have proven their quality for 50 years. If you're traveling by public transport, you'll also encounter our systems. Whether you're checking travel information, using WiFi on the train, pay for your tram journey, or even encountering traffic control systems if you take the car - our systems make all of this possible. Our outlook on the future of embedded hardware
The current market potential for the industrial embedded hardware sector is huge and is still growing. The industry is able to transform to a Smart and sustainable industry via intelligent machinery and data. Market data also shows that embedded hardware solutions are being implemented more and more, its development is a continuous process and AI applications will grow rapidly.
We gladly share OpenAI results that support our outlook on the future of embedded hardware, characterized by a number of promising developments and trends that will have a significant impact in the coming years:
- AI and machine learning in embedded systems. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in embedded hardware opens up new possibilities for smart and autonomous systems. These systems will be able to process and analyze data locally, resulting in faster responses and reduced reliance on cloud services.
- Edge computing, where data is processed and analyzed close to the source of data generation, is becoming increasingly important in embedded systems. This reduces latency and bandwidth requirements, which is particularly beneficial for real-time applications such as industrial automation and autonomous vehicles.
- More powerful and energy-efficient chips: continuous advancements in semiconductor technologies will lead to the development of more powerful yet energy-efficient chips. This will enable embedded systems to perform more complex tasks with longer battery life, which is particularly important for portable and IoT devices.
- Security and safety: with the growing interconnectedness of embedded systems, cybersecurity becomes an increasingly important focus. Manufacturers will focus more on implementing robust security measures such as encryption, authentication, and secure boot processes to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data.
- Modularity and scalability: to shorten development time and increase flexibility, embedded hardware platforms will become increasingly modular and scalable. This allows developers to quickly build prototypes and easily add or adapt functionality to changing requirements.
- Digitization can contribute to shorter lead times, reducing errors and increasing the service level.
- Smart industry and manufacturing will focus on sustainable manufacturing, smart products that are digitally connected and smart, additional services.
- Investments in robotism are essential to enabling continuous product improvement in manufacturing and assembling processes. Furthermore, robotism can speed up processes and reduce costs. Actual trends are robots working together with employees, easily reprogramming robots to execute a variety of tasks, and lastly, connecting robots which are digitally connected to production tasks and linked to Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and the cloud.
We push key processes to move faster, safer and smarter. Now and in the future.
Overall, the future of embedded hardware will be characterized by continuous evolution and innovation, driven by the demand for increased computing power, efficiency, connectivity, and security in a wide range of application areas. Our team is ready to support organizations in industrial automation to work faster, safer and smarter now and in the future!
