Impact Analysis: The accelerated EOL-Phase of Nvidia Jetson modules
The global Embedded AI Industry is facing a major change in product availability. Nvidia have brought foward the End-of-Life (EOL) timeline for the TX2- and Xaiver-platform. The year 2026 for companies, using industrial automation- and image processing systems, is crucial for the ongoing and following procedures.
Reason for the acceleration is the global shortage of LPDDR4 - RAM modules. Due to the switch to LPDDR5/5X memory, the availability of RAM modules for older Jetson-architectures is limited. This results in an unexpected accelerated product life cycle and an early EOL-planning from Nvidia.
- May 1st 2026: Start of NCNR-Status (Non-Cancelable, Non-Returnable).
- July 1st 2026: Fixed Last Time Buy (LTB) date for orders.
- July 15th 2027: Last Shipment date fro Nvidia.

Strategic steps: Why waiting is not an option
1. Risk Analysis
Make an inventory of your projects, where affected modeles being used in your products. Be aware of reserve inventory for repairs (RMA) after 2027.
2. Forecast
Plan the total requirement until the end of your project. Orders must be finalized by Q2 2026.
3. Migration path
Start testing Nvidia Jetson Orin systems right away for continuity of performance and availability well into the years following after 2030.
